Abstract: Carbon is widely used as an activated carbon for water purification, batteries, electrodes, fuel cell, superconductors, deodorizing and medication. At high temperature pyrolysis above 400oC (600oC, 800oC, and 1000oC) carbon content can be increased. The results of research on coconut shell with high pyrolysis with holding time in furnace 60 minutes obtained the element and composition: at a temperature of 600°C: 84.455 C, 11.52 O and 4.024% by weight; temperature of 800°C: 86.44 C, 10.04 O and 3.52% by weight and at a temperature of 1000°C: 91.71 C, 5.63 O, 0.51 K and 1.13 Nb% by weight. At a temperature of 1000°C the maximal carbon content for both graphite and Niobium as a very hard material, resistant to high temperatures and corrosion resistance
